One example is Agriterme, a planned agritourism development in Viterbo, Italy, halfway between Rome and Tuscany. The project brings together Al Casale — a working organic farm — and the expertise of both the University of Tuscia and Ohio State in the field of organic agriculture.
As part of the project, the organic farm will serve both as a field school and as an upscale agritourism resort. Agriterme is also expected to yield stronger curricula for the two universities, more diverse opportunities for students to learn the best of both worlds, and enhanced revenue for the schools.
